Welcome to the Longhouse Bed & Breakfast at Put-in-Bay
Tucked
away on a secluded 5-acre wooded setting off Put-in-Bay Road is the
Longhouse Bed & Breakfast. Once a public toured home, our family turned
this replica of an original Viking longhouse into a beautiful bed and
breakfast about 10 years ago.
We cater to couples and
families and have two rooms available in our spacious island home for
visitors who will enjoy the quiet and serenity of a property guarded by
century oaks and walnut trees.
The woods are a birder's paradise and the island boasts more than
250 different species. If you're interested in spending time birding
while here, we have binoculars and guide books for your use.
Our
guests have their own private entrance, a comfortable common room with
plenty of lounging space and a television for catching up on the news or
watching a good movie. There are also televisions located in each guest
room.
Our guest rooms are unique. The Duck Room is located on the
first floor, adjacent to the common room, and the
Pheasant Room is
located on the second floor, reached by a staircase just off the common
room.
Both rooms have queen beds and private baths. The Longhouse
has central air conditioning and we have a courtesy telephone for our
guests' use to make local telephone calls.
The entire Longhouse is filled with paintings and decoys from
various wildlife artists from around the world.
You'll
choose from at least a dozen items on the Longhouse Buffet Breakfast
each morning. The aroma of gourmet coffee fills the lodge as well as
that of homemade breads and rolls. Enjoy your deluxe breakfast in the
inn's dining room, with its 30 foot cathedral ceiling, or outdoors on
the beautifully landscaped grounds.
The Riddle family extends
a warm welcome to join them year around in this unique setting. Come lie
in the sun, cross country ski or enjoy ice fishing in the Walleye
Capital of the World. Make the Longhouse Bed & Breakfast part of your
next great escape.
